Scottish Alliance for Children’s Rights

Join Together online for a full day session to develop a detailed understanding of how to implement the five principles of a children’s human rights approach in your work and organisation. With the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 strengthening legal protections and bringing a strong focus to children’s rights in Scotland, this session can help by focusing on the different ways you can turn children’s rights into practice. It can also help to provide a structure for UNCRC Act reports, allowing an analysis of areas of children’s rights in practice. This training aims to equip attendees with:

  • Knowledge of the UNCRC and UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024
  • A clear understanding of the five principles of a Children’s Human Rights Approach and how they connect
  • Practical ways to apply children’s rights in your work
  • Examples of ideas and tools to support implementation of children’s rights
  • Resources for further study

The session will draw on real-life examples, the Children’s Rights Skills and Knowledge Framework, and cover topics including Child Rights Impact Assessments, child rights monitoring, participation, evidence gathering, budgeting and equal access to rights for all children.

This training session is followed by a drop-in six month
