Webinar – Child Sexual Abuse & Exploitation: Key Messages for Those with Roles with Children in Any Community Context

Child sexual abuse and exploitation can occur in any community and can affect children and young people from all backgrounds. This webinar is designed for anyone who works with, supports, or has regular contact with children and young people in community settings. The session will explore the nature and impact of child sexual abuse and exploitation, help participants recognise signs and indicators of concern, and highlight the important role that all adults can play in prevention, early identification and safeguarding. 

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

• Describe what child sexual abuse and child sexual exploitation are and understand how they can present in community settings.
• Recognise potential warning signs, indicators and vulnerabilities that may suggest a child or young person is experiencing harm.
• Understand the impact of sexual abuse and exploitation on children, young people and families.
• Identify the protective role that community organisations, services and trusted adults can play in preventing harm.
• Respond appropriately to concerns and understand the importance of sharing information and following local child protection procedures.
